Private label perfume for your brand
A fragrance developed exclusively for your brand: from brief to production-ready formula, by a Belgian perfume house.
What is private label perfume?
With private label perfume you have a fragrance developed that exists only for your brand. You set the direction, we translate it into a technically correct, commercially viable formula. You sell the fragrance under your own brand name and it is not available to other brands.
Kastoréll Studio develops fragrance identities for brands. We are boutique and niche, not mass production: a limited number of programmes per year, with a high quality standard and clear agreements.
Who is it for?
- Emerging brands that want a first or a new fragrance developed.
- Entrepreneurs with a clear vision, such as boutiques, hotels, spas, salons and concept stores that want a fragrance of their own.
- Labels that want to launch commercially and need a fragrance that works technically and financially.
We are not the right partner for hobby projects, personal requests or quick ‘just make something’ jobs. Looking for a fragrance for yourself? Then bespoke perfume is the right path.

How it works
- Intake and brief
We discuss your brand, your audience, your price position and the desired fragrance character.
- Concept and first versions
We translate the brief into a fragrance direction and work out the first versions.
- Iterations and refinement
You test, we refine: depth, balance and longevity, until the fragrance fits your brand.
- Technical finish
The final formula is technically documented, checked against IFRA and given a cost structure.
- Production and launch
Together we look at run size, bottle and packaging, so your fragrance reaches the market scalable and affordable.
Ownership of the formula: IP and exclusivity
With an IP transfer full ownership of the formula passes to you. Kastoréll then no longer reuses the fragrance and you may exploit it commercially. The IP transfer is part of every fragrance programme, is agreed in writing and takes effect once everything is paid. With private label this is the usual route.
Without an IP transfer Kastoréll remains the legal owner of the formula and you receive a right of use for your own brand. We do not sell the fragrance on to others and you may not resell or change the formula without permission. That is possible, but less usual, because you then do not own the fragrance of your own brand.
Exclusivity means we do not use the fragrance or fragrance structure again, for one fragrance, a collection, a market or a period. It is not a standard part of a programme and always requires a separate contract.
Agreements and payment
- 50% at the start, 50% on delivery.
- No start without payment, and no IP transfer or exclusivity without a written agreement.
- All creations remain the property of Kastoréll until fully paid.
Regulation and safety
A perfume you sell in the European Union falls under the European Cosmetics Regulation. We deliver an IFRA-compliant formula with technical documentation. What you as a brand still need to arrange, for example the safety assessment, the responsible person, the notification and the label, we explain beforehand. Read the guide perfume and regulation in Europe.
Frequently asked questions about private label perfume
What is a private label perfume?
With a private label perfume you have a fragrance developed exclusively for your brand, sold under your brand name. The formula is based on your brief and is not available to other brands.
What does a private label perfume cost?
It depends on the programme (one fragrance, a signature fragrance or a collection), the number of iterations and the agreements on ownership and exclusivity. Production costs per bottle come on top and depend on run size, bottle and packaging. After a first conversation you receive a tailored proposal.
Who owns the formula?
With private label we transfer the formula: the IP transfer is part of your fragrance programme and agreed in writing, so you become the full owner. If you choose not to, Kastoréll remains the owner of the formula and you receive a right of use for your own brand. Exclusivity is set out in a separate contract.
Do I need an established brand?
You do not need a large brand, but you do need a clear vision. We work with emerging brands, entrepreneurs and labels that want to launch commercially. We are not the right partner for hobby projects or quick turnarounds.
Do you also take care of the legal documents?
We deliver an IFRA-compliant, technically stable and reproducible formula with technical documentation. We explain the legal steps for placing a perfume on the European market beforehand, so you know what you need to arrange as a brand. Read our guide on European regulation.
