A perfume at Kastoréll does not begin with a list of raw materials, but with an image: a place, an hour of the day, a feeling. Only when that image is sharp do we start calculating and weighing.
1. The concept
Every fragrance first gets a concept, a short scene that tells you what to feel. The formula adapts to it, never the other way round. That keeps a composition recognisable, even when we adjust along the way.
2. The first formula
From the concept we build a formula in three layers: top notes that open, heart notes that carry the fragrance and base notes that linger. We choose raw materials that form a balanced whole and take safety and wearability into account from the start.
3. Testing and adjusting
We make the first version in a small test batch and smell it at different moments. We work with a limited number of versions per fragrance. That forces choices instead of endless tweaking.
4. Maturing
After mixing we let the fragrance mature. Read more in time as an ingredient.
5. The final version
Only after testing do we decide the final concentration and which collection the fragrance belongs to. A small, carefully weighed batch in Belgium follows.
