What is a signature scent?
A signature scent is a perfume you wear again and again, so that it belongs to you. It is not about the most popular fragrance, but about one that suits you and that you enjoy smelling yourself, even after hours.
How do you find yours?
- Start with what you already love. Scents from your surroundings count: a place, a fabric, a dish, a season. Also read which fragrance family suits you.
- Test on your skin. A fragrance smells different on a strip than on skin and changes during the day.
- Give it time. A perfume develops over hours. Read the explanation of the fragrance pyramid.
- Think of the occasion. Do you wear it by day, in the evening or always? Only in winter or all year round?
Choosing or having it made
A perfume from the range is made for many. Having a signature scent made means the composition is built for you. You have a say in the direction, the strength and the character, and the fragrance exists only once.
How it works at Kastoréll
- Intake. We talk about what you are looking for: memories, scents you love or dislike, the occasion.
- Your scent path. You choose your base feeling, your expression and your depth, and possibly one or two accents. Together they decide how your fragrance opens, develops and lingers.
- Composition and refinement. The perfumer translates your choices into a formula and checks it against the IFRA standards. Depending on the programme a refinement round follows.
- Finishing. Your fragrance gets a name, a bottle and a personal card. The perfume then matures.
Choosing the strength
Your perfume can be a lighter eau de toilette, a balanced eau de parfum or a rich extrait de parfum. An extrait stays on the skin the longest. Read the guide on concentrations.

Our bespoke creations are meant as a unique, one-off creation. The composition is not reproducible. If you want to be able to reorder your signature scent later, ask about the possibilities during the intake.

What is the difference between a signature scent and a favourite perfume?
A favourite perfume is one you like to wear. A signature scent is one you wear again and again, so that others connect it with you. A signature scent can be a perfume from the range or a fragrance made for you.
Can I have more than one signature scent?
There is no rule. Many people wear one fragrance all year, others choose a light one for summer and a richer one for winter. What matters is that you enjoy wearing it.
How long does it take to have a signature scent made?
Allow a few weeks: the composition, a refinement round and the maturation. We discuss the planning during the intake.
Is a bespoke fragrance safe for my skin?
We work to the IFRA standards, the international guidelines for the safe use of fragrance materials, and take the European cosmetics regulations into account. If you have sensitive skin or an allergy, tell us during the intake.
